Program for conversion cancelled due to HJS and staunch Hindus oppose

Goa:Due to the opposition of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and staunch Hindus, ‘Believers’, the program of conversions was cancelled. The program was to be held in Hanuman Theatre; but opposition from the staunch Hindus made the organizers cancels the program at the last moment.

A two days’ program of prayers on behalf of ‘Believers’ was started at Hanuman Theatre in Mhapsa. When members of HJS and other staunch Hindus got a wind of this program aimed at conversion of Hindus, they planned to oppose the program. They therefore, submitted a representation to the local police and the police was made aware of the purpose of the program.

The managing committee members of the Theatre returned the advance taken in connection with the program and removed all the related banners. Due to the strong protests of HJS and staunch Hindus, the organizers shifted the venue of the program to Parra. When HJS members learnt about the same, they again submitted a representation at the police station.
