Gujarat CID (crime), probing the mysterious deaths of two boys studying in Asaram Bapu’s ashram here in July 2008, have told the High Court that they have found no evidence of black magic being practiced there. This was stated in the report submitted by investigating officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police PM Parmar, before Justice AS Dave who was hearing the case yesterday.
The report was filed by CID, in reply to the court’s order on petitions by seven ‘sadhaks’ of the Asaram ashram who have claimed innocence and urged the high court to quash the FIR against them in which they have been charged with culpable homicide. "Places (in the ashram ) were thoroughly searched and photographed as well as videography was done during the visit, but no material suggesting practice of black magic has been found," the report said.
The CID, in its report, has stated that Dipesh and Abhishek may have died because of drowning as per their post mortem examination report. The report mentioned that the accused had lied in their lie detection test about the ashram’s activities related to tantra sadhna and black magic In addition to this probing a Sting operation was organized by few journalists also and they also could not find any indication of such practice inAshram.
Where are the media channels that made a big drama out of these allegations and used this event trying to mislead people and gain cheap publicity? I hope they would have courage to accept their mistake and apologies for the inappropriate coverage. While people have not been waiting for CID reports they know that Sant Shri Asaram Bapu and His Ashram mates can never contribute to such mal practices. It’s the magic of Asaram Bapu’s love and selfless service that continues to attract people.
