Panvel:Majority, about 90 %, of the students studying at St. Mary’s School at Sukapur, Panvel are Hindus. But this anti-Hindu School is trying to ban student from righteous conduct as prescribed in Hindu religion resulting in hurting feelings of the Hindus. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has lodged a complaint against the School.
The School held examinations during Ganapati festival despite Education Minister’s orders for not holding examinations during the festival. Parents of the students have also complained to the HJS about the School preventing students from following righteous conduct as advocated in Hindu religion. Such things are unjust and hurting feelings of Hindus. It is against the right of freedom to follow any religion conferred by the Constitution of India.
Such things are creating a lot of discontent among the parents and other local residents and at any moment the situation can go out of hand. HJS has therefore, demanded in their complaint that strict action must be taken against the management and the concerned persons. It is also demanded that enquiry should be made of all schools run by Christian Missionaries and their sources of funding. It is warned that extensive agitations will be started if action is not taken. Leaders of many political parties like Shiv Sena, BJP, Bajarang Dal and other Hindu organizations were present at the police station when the complaint was lodged by HJS.
