Belgaun(Karnataka) – The Shiv-jayanti Festival concluded with taking out a rally yesterday wherein big pictures depicting incidents from the life history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj were displayed. The misconduct generally observed in such rally taken out every year was prevented with the efforts of Sree Shiv-jayanti Chitrarath Mahamandal and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS).
About 100000 Hindus participated in the rally. HJS had undertaken a drive for few days earlier to prevent incidents of misconduct like getting drunk and dancing in the rally, teasing women etc. generally taking place during the rally. HJS members met workers of all ‘Mandals’ and enlightened them on the issue.
A pamphlet was circulated by Sree Shiv-jayanti Chitrarath Mahamandal (SSCM) appealing people to take out an ideal procession emphasizing that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was known as an ideal king and the rally was also taken out for paying obeisance to Samartha Ramdas Swami.
Digital boards were displayed on the route of the rally enlightening the people. All these efforts finally paid and SSCM and HJS campaign was successful in preventing malpractices taking place in the rally.
There were more than 50 ‘floats’ including that of HJS in the rally. This ‘float’ was paid a visit by Mr. Parmod Mutalik, the President of Sreeram Sena. There was overwhelming response from the patrons of Shivaji Maharaj.
There was exhibition of games, traditional songs, demonstrations of ‘lezim’, live depiction of scenes from life-history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj like slaying of Afzal Khan to Shivaji Maharaj chopping the fingers of Shahiste Khan, raising of slogans against ‘jihad’ and ‘love jihad’ were the special features of the rally. There was a big crowd to see the rally that concluded at Kapileshwar Devsthan.

*HJS workers were displaying digital body-banners showing enlightening matter and it was read by all patrons of Shivaji Maharaj; some even video-recorded the same.
* ‘Bal-Shivaji’, who joined the ‘float’ of HJS on his own, became quite an attraction for the Shivaji-patrons.
