Maharashtra : ‘Naam-dindi’ (Procession chanting God’s name) by HJS 

Chopda : On the occasion of ‘Datta-Jayanti’, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took out ‘naam-dindi (Procession chanting God’s name)’ as taken out every year. It was started at 8.30 in the morning from Chhatrapati Shivaji Chowk. Municipal councilor Jeevan Chaudhary along with his wife, so also Mayor Manisha Chaudhary performed ‘puja’ of picture of Datta Bhagavan and garlanded the same. The dignitaries also garlanded statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the ‘dindi’ was started carrying ‘Dharma-dhvaj’ from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk; concluding at old Datta Mandir. All participants chanted ‘Shri Gurudev Datta’ in the procession. Volunteers of HJS, Navagrah Samiti’s Sunil Songire, Anita Mali etc were present so also large number of devout Hindus.
