Kanjikod : A BJP worker’s house was attacked in Kanjikode in Palakkad in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The house of BJP former panchayat member Kannan at Chadayankal was attacked. The miscreants set fire to the bikes that were parked in front of the house. The fire soon spread and a gas cylinder in the vicinity exploded. Three people —  Kannan, his wife Vimala and his brother Radhakrishnan — suffered burn injuries as the fire spread to the house. The house has suffered serious damages in the incident.

According to reports, Vimala has received 80 per cent burn injuries and has been admitted to Thrissur Medical College.

Kannan and Radhakrishnan have been admitted to Palakkad district hospital.

The BJP alleged that CPM was behind the incident.

The area witnessed tension between the two parties the other day. Police suspect that Wednesday’s incident is a continuation of this.
