Mapusa : Devout citizens prevent ‘Dharmahaani’ by re-immersion of Deities’ pictures

Mapusa : Few picture-frames of Hindus’ Deities were kept in the open near river bank; close to Green Park Hotel in Mapusa. These pictures kept near a ‘Tulsi-vrundavan’ were found scattered over the place. The local devout Hindus got together and immersed all the pictures, realizing it was their duty to stop ‘Dharma-haani’ and denigration of Deities. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took initiative in this task joined by ‘Gomantak Mandir and Dharmik Mahasangh’, Swarajya, Ranaragini, Sanatan Sanstha, Padmanabh Sampradaya, Swayamsahayya Gata, Sarpanch Fondu Naik of Giri village and local residents. Many devout Hindus also participated in this drive. Anand Parsekar of Padmanabh Sampradaya rendered apology to Deities, seeking forgiveness. Shri. Fondu Naik, Sarpanch of Giri village said that throwing pictures of Deities was their insult and it should be prevented.”
