Shahapur (Maharashtra): The Mandir Committee has hurt religious sentiments of Hindus by selling cows to butchers that were received by the Committee as offerings from devotees. Therefore, the Committee should be dissolved and inquiry should be conducted against the Committee. A memorandum containing the above demands was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to Mr. Jadhav, the Tehsildar of Shahapur. Mr. Jadhav assured the delegation of HJS to forward the memorandum to the Government for necessary action.
The delegation comprised of Mr. Deepak Patkar, the city-chief of BJP, Mr. Ashok Irnak, the general secretary and Mr. Mukund Shirke of BJP, H. B. P. Kailas Nichite Maharaj, devout Hindus Mr. Santosh Nivalkar and Mr. Bhushan Salvi, Mrs. Vedika Palan and Mrs. Jyotsna Jagatap of HJS.
It has been stated in the memorandum that the Government management of the temple sold the cows to butchers because they were not yielding any income; similarly, the Government management may even sell the temple claiming that it is not earning much income. This matter, therefore, needs to be investigated and cases need to be filed against the concerned persons for hurting religious sentiments, creating furor in society etc.
