HJS Campaign : Approve memorial of Veer Savarkar in France
Good response by patriots and devout Hindus to a lecture on Veer Savarkar

Amaravati (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Sree Ambadevi Library jointly organized a public lecture on Swatantryaveer Savarkar at the local Ambadevi Keertan Hall to inculcate his refulgent thoughts among the people. The program received very good response from the patriots and devout Hindus. The members of audience were addressed by dignitaries like Mrs. Padmatai Desai, the President of Ambadevi Library, national keertankar Mr. Yogesh Maharaj Salegaonkar and Mr. Hemant Khatri of HJS.
Various activities undertaken by Ambadevi Library and HJS were explained to the audience. Mrs. Padmatai Desai talked mainly about the qualities of Veer Savarkar and informed that many books by Savarkar were available in the library which can be studied, free of cost, by the interested members.
Mr. Khatri of HJS reminded about the centenary year of the world famous leap taken by Veer Savarkar from a ship in Marseilles Port as also the centenary year of the verse ‘Sagara Pran Talmalala…’ written by Savarkar. He informed the audience about drive undertaken by HJS to construct a memorial of Veer Savarkar in Marseilles Port.
Mr. Yogesh Maharaj Salegaonkar explained to the audience, in his fluent speech, true caliber and value of Savarkar, besides Savarkar’s intense thoughts regarding Nation and Dharma. He deplored Hindus for forgetting Savarkar.
A signature drive against the secondary treatment given by NCERT to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Savarkar in their text books and for the construction of memorial of Savarkar at Marseilles Port was undertaken on the occasion. An exhibition of books published by Sanatan Sanstha and its other ‘sattvik’ products was also held at the venue. About 200 devout Hindus and patriots attended the program that was concluded with singing of ‘Vande Mataram’.

During the discussions held after the program, Mr. Amol Thakare (Res. Pardi) narrated an incident of a Hindu girl from his college running away with a Muslim boy and how Mr. Thakare changed the opinion of the girl. Mr. Yogesh Maharaj Salegaonkar felicitated him immediately by presenting a shawl, sreefal (coconut) and garland that was earlier offered to Maharaj on hearing the incident from Mr. Thakare.
