Shah Rukh Khan booked for rioting after railway stall owner’s complaint

Jaipur : The Kota government railway police on Monday registered a case against actor Shah Rukh Khan for rioting, unlawful assembly, damaging public property and obstructing a railway official during the promotion of his film on board a train.

The actor travelled on the August Kranti Express from Mumbai to Delhi to promote his latest film Raees.

The case was registered following a complaint lodged by Vikram Singh, 32, who runs a stall on platform No. 1 at the Kota railway station.

In his complaint, Singh said when the train arrived at the station around 5am on January 24, a large number of fans thronged the carriage. “Khan did not deboard the train but waved at his fans from the door to the coach, and threw gifts and footballs at the waiting crowd. This caused a stampede-like situation on the platform,” the complainant said.

The vendor said in the melee, public property and his stall were damaged. The crowd also robbed cash from his stall, he said.

Singh lodged the complaint in the court of the additional chief judicial magistrate, railway court, which forwarded it to the Kota GRP police station for investigation.

“We have registered a case against Shah Rukh Khan and other members of the promotional team for rioting, causing unlawful assembly, affray and damage to public property,” said GRP superintendent of police Om Prakash.

The actor has been booked under Sections 147 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 160 (affray), 427 (mischief causing damage of more than 50 rupees), 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984; Sections 145 (interfering with amenity provided by the railway administration so as to affect the comfortable travel of any passenger) and 146 (obstructing or preventing any railway servant in the discharge of his duties)

One person died and others were injured when fans who swarmed the Vadodara railway station to catch a glimpse of the actor, rushed towards the exit after the train left the station.

Case against Sunny Deol, Karishma Kapoor under trial in Jaipur

A case under the Railway Act, 1989, against actors Sunny Deol, Karishma Kapoor, Satish Shah and Tinu Verma, is under trial in the railway court in Jaipur, for pulling the chain of a train during the shooting of “Bajrang” in March, 1997.

The Phulera GRP police station registered the case against the film stars on the complaint of assitant station master of Narena station Sitaram Malakar, for delaying the train by 25 minutes.

    Film actors like Shah Rukh Khan are a nuisance to society & should be given stern & strict punishment NOW, for their mis-deeds towards society.
