Education officer Tanaji Ghadage’s suspension should be immediately withdrawn : HJS

Order issued to conduct inquiry into an officer for issuing circular for removal of Deities’ pictures and order issued to suspend an officer for issuing circular for celebration of ‘Matru-Pitru Din’; what kind of justice is this ?

Mumbai : A circular was issued to celebrate ‘Matru-Pitru Din’ instead of following western tradition of celebrating Valentine Day on 14th February and observe martyr day to pay homage to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru; therefore, Shri. Tanaji Ghadage, education officer of primary section from Solapur was promptly suspended from duty, as part of disciplinary action against him. Is it a crime of Shri. Ghadage to take decision to pay honour to parents and revolutionaries ? The Government could have announced decision to observe martyr day of revolutionaries by rectifying the technical error of date which would have preserved Indian culture. On one hand, the Government conducts inquiry, only as an eye-wash, into officer issuing circular for removal of all pictures of Deities from offices and on the other hand, is taking action against officer for issuing circular about paying respect to revolutionaries and parents, what kind of justice is this ? The Government should immediately withdraw suspension of Shri. Tanaji Ghadage and inform people about action taken against officer for issuing order to remove Deities’ pictures. The above demand has been made through a press release by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) with the State Government.

It has been stated in the press release that –

1. Shri. Ghadage can surely be asked about the technical error in the circular; but how can he be accused of inappropriate purpose ?

2. How can it be forgotten that in earlier BJP-led States like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgad, ‘Matru-Pitru Din’ was celebrated on 14th of February at Government level ?

3.The Government should in fact, take action for prevention of following wrong customs like celebration of Valentine Day since such things are spoiling our young generation and encouraging immorality and lust.

4. The Government allows Sunburn festivals; it has no problem with celebration of 31st December which involves consumption of liquor; there is no problem with watching porn websites; but the Government cannot tolerate worship of mother and father. Is this the culture of Maharashtra and Chhatrapati Shivaraya ?

5. Maharashtra Government keeps Chhatrapati as its ideal or the so-called Valentine, is a serious question asked in this background.
