Haridwar: In Ramleela program recently conducted at Haridwar, the famous pilgrimage place, ‘Bar girls’ danced to the tune of film songs. One cannot imagine anything more disgraceful than this. Not a single Hindu watching this program raised any objection. In the above program, ‘Bargirls’ danced in the court of Ravana.
Even in the court held by Sree Rama, there was a dance by ‘Bar girls’. In the dance of ‘Bar girls’ shown in the court of Ravana, they sat in the lap of Ravana, kissed him and various TV news channels showed such clippings.
Strong reactions from Staunch Hindus
The clippings were shown on the news channel ‘Aaj tak’ that resulted in generating strong reactions from all over the country. Many vigilant Hindus called up the channel office and registered their strong protests through various mediums like e-mail, SMS and telephone etc. Some of the citizens felt that organizations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajarang Dal etc. should have tried to stop such incidents.
Shri. Brujbhushan Sharan, the Secretary of Ramleela Samiti at Delhi expressed his views that after Varanasi, Haridwar is known as the most holy place of pilgrimage in our country. It is very shameful that at such place, such incidents are happening. Ramleela programs are organized to make the young generation aware about the greatness of Sree Ram who was an ideal, a perfect man. If programs are conducted in this manner, what opinion will young generation form about Lord Ram?
Bajarag Dal plans to hold demonstrations
Shri. Prakash Shrama, the national Convener of the party has registered protest in very strong words. He has stated that the party would use all democratic means for bringing to book all those persons responsible for oragnising dance by Bargirls in Ramleela. All members of the Dal will be instructed to be watchful and try to stop such denigration of deities.
Unashamed justification by the organizers
People were not showing interest in coming to watch Ramleela program. Therefore, just to draw the crowds, dance by ‘Bargirls’ was arranged, the appalling explanation given by Shri. Shashikant Vasishtha, President of the Ramleela organizing committee. He further said that there were ample incidents of dancers showing their art in the court of Ravana, hence it was not wrong to have dance in Ravana’s court.
Court’s order to stop such outrageous dances in Ramleela programs
New Delhi: Delhi High Court has passed an order preventing vulgar dances in Ramleela programs. Ramleela program has been organized in ‘Inderpuri’ locality at ‘Sant Kabir Park’ in the city. The program will go on for 10 days. A petition was filed in Delhi High Court to ban this program, as the program was full of vulgar dances. The High Court has therefore, issued a show cause notice to even the City Police Commissioner and organizing committee of Ramleela.
