Keep Hindu Temples away from the Government Control ! – Mr. Vijayaraghava Padwetnaya, Chief administrator, Sree Janardhana Swamy temple, Ujire.
Ujire (Karnataka): Administrators of all the Temples and devout Hindus were invited to Ujire’s Sree Janardhana swamy temple to discuss on the harmful effects of control of Govt. over the temples and to decide on the further actions that must be taken with this regard.
On this occasion, more than 17 chief administrators and many devout Hindus from the Ujire had participated. Mr. Vijayaraghava padvetnaya, the chief administrator of Sree Janardhana swamy temple of Ujire was president of the meeting and Mr. Mohana Gowda, Spokesperson of Karnataka State for HJS was the chief guest. Mr. Karunakar Abyankar, the coordinator of Ujire HJS gave the introductory speech.
Temples are the holy centres of devotion, only spiritual intentions should be appreciated and not commercial. Temples should be the centres that strengthen the spirituality and the holiness. But this is not possible by Govt. control over the temples, and therefore we all have gathered here to make strict decisions against this action of the Govt.
Not only Temples, but also Mosques and Churches should strictly come under Govt. Control ! -Mr. Mohana Gowda, HJS
Continuing his talk, Mr. Mohana Gowda added saying that Govt. is only taking over Hindu temples and not even a single church or a mosque! This shows that Govt. has different set of rules for Hindus and totally different for other religions. Already the temples of Maharashtra, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh are suffering from the harmful effects of Govt. control of Temples. So as a preventive measure, we must be utmost careful to see that at least the temples of Karnataka are not coming under Govt. control and fight against it.
Many of the temples of Karnataka that were previously under Govt. control and now they are not seen under the Govt. control. Only the richest of the temples are in the hands of Govt. and this clearly shows what Govt.’s desires are. The Govt. of Karnataka doesn’t get any income from from mosques. BJP has given 167 crores to mosques and madrasas but has confiscated more than 100 crores from Hindu temples. Only 35 crores from it are given back to temples and rest of them are utilized for Churches, Mosques and Madrasas!
Thousands of temples till now have become rubbles because of natural calamities. But our Govt. is not at all bothered about them. The current Govt. under the vision of Dr. Ramojoisis is trying to bring up new rules under the Endowment department only for Hindu Temples and no other religions’ holy places will come under the new rule !
"With regard to Govt. Control of the temples, Govt. should be answered back in its own language", said the chief administrator of Janardhana swamy temple ,Mr. Vijayaraghava padvetnaya. Adding to this, he also told that ‘temples should be totally freed off from the Govt’s control’.Talking from his own experience, he said that ‘once when he refused to bribe a Govt. officer, the same officer complained that the Temple’s chariot was not under good working condition and should not be used. Later by getting permission from PWD the chariot was used and surprisingly the chariot is still under good condition and can be used for some more years!! therefore we should pledge to strictly fight against Government’s ploy to take over Hindu Temples.
Then all the chief administrators decided to visit the chief officer of the Endowment department and talk to him regarding Govt. control of Hindu Temples, and later take some actions against it and create awareness among the via pamphlets and flex banners.
