Federation of temples and religious organizations to be set up in Maharashtra !

Navi Mumbai: A meeting was organized by the office bearers of Hindu temples and religious institutions at Ayyappa Temple in Vashi and it was resolved to set up a federation of temples and religious institutions.

Temples are the places of faith and worship for Hindus. The religious organizations are engaged in propagation of Hindu Dharma and are creating awareness among the people towards their culture, traditions and Dharma. The present condition of temples, anti-Hindu laws passed by the Government, lack of knowledge among Hindus towards their Dharma, lack of unity among them make it imperative for all to come together and to undertake tasks to take care of the above situation.

All the presently registered temples and religious organizations have decided to come together and set up a federation. The temples and religious organizations from Navi Mumbai have taken an initiative and the first phase will cover all religious trusts in Thane, Panvel and Mumbai. Thereafter, it will open branches in other districts of Maharashtra. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Mr. Ravindran Mannanur of Keraliya Kshetrapalan Samiti and was attended by Mr. Motilal Jain from Jain temples, Mr. Chaudhary of Dhakaleshwar Temple Trust, Mr. Narayan Patil, the President of Sree Gamdevi Temple, Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district-coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Mr. Abhay Vartak, the spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha and many office bearers and trustees of Ayyappa temples in Mumbai and surrounding areas. The next meeting will be held on 8th August at Zulelal Temple Hall in Vashi at 5.00 p.m. to decide about matters like the setting up of the federation and its activities.
