Thane (Maharashtra): The plastic National Flags lead to their denigration on Independence Day. A representation was submitted on behalf of HJS to the Police Commissioner of Thane, Mr. Anil Dhere, District Collector Jarhad, Dy. District Collector Amol Yadav, Mayor Ashok Vaity and Municipal Commissioner Rajeev along with different Government officials demanding prevention of denigration of ‘National Flags’.

‘National Flags’ made up of plastic are used on large scale on 15th August. Later, these flags are thrown on the roads and at other places. This is an insult of the National Flag and such insult has to be prevented. The sale of plastic flags has not been stopped despite a circular issued by the Government. It is a punishable offence to sell such flags; therefore, action should be taken against such sellers, says the representation.
