It has been observed that Anti-Hindu Times of India has once again denigrated Hindu and Jain religious symbol of ‘Holy Cow’ by defamatory painting of a cow. The paintings contains map of the city, Jama masjid and Hindu Deities with filmy heroes’ faces imposed on it. All Hindus should boycott Anti-Hindu Times of India and also protest lawfully against them so that they should not defame Hindu Dharma in the future.

Subject- Complaint to stop denigration of the Hindu and Jain religious symbol, the Holy Cow, by Times of India

Dear Sir,

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is a registered NGO doing social, religious and national welfare work. The Samiti is active throughout India and educating people about Dharma in a scientific way, campaigning against malpractices under the guise of religious practices during Navratri, Ganeshotsav, Holi, etc. ,educating and stopping denigration of Hindu deities in plays, movies or advertisements and solving problems connected with national, religious and social issues.

Please refer to the attached complaint submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti to the Senior Police Inspector Mr.Sawant, Colaba police station on 9th Feb 2011 regarding denigration of the Hindu religious symbol, the Holy cow, by Times of India at Kala Ghoda Art Festival in February 2011.

Please note that after receiving the complaint Mr. Sawant immediately called Mr. Dawar, coordinator of Kala Ghoda Festival and asked him to remove the holy cow painted in an insulting manner, as it was hurting the sentiments of Hindus and Jains.

We regret to note that the same painting of the cow with the city map, paintings of roads and buildings, Jama Masjid and pictures of Hindu deities along with film heroes on its body, has been kept at the entrance of the office of Times of India at CST, Mumbai to further add salt to injury of Hindus and Jains. One more such paintingis placed at Kamla mills compound at Parel.

It has been noticed that you are indulging in insulting the Hindu religion and faith, time and again with the intention to attack Hindu faith, religious values , teachings and to destroy the values in the next generation for political, religious and commercial gain.

You are requested to immediately remove these holy Hindu and Jain symbols or paint them white, without pictures, failing which there will be strong protests from all the proud Hindus and Jains against you.

Please acknowledge the receipt of this letter and the action taken in the above matter.

Thanking You,
Yours Sincerely,
Mr. Shivaji Vatkar (932-253-3595)

Mr. Raj Shinde, a Devout Hindu condemns Times of India for denigrating Hindu religious symbol of ‘Holy Cow’

Sangali (Maharashtra): The distorted statue of the cow which was removed from the exhibition at ‘Kala Ghoda Festival’ was displayed in ‘The Times of India’ office as a show piece. Mr. Raj Shinde, a staunch Hindu condemned roughly the management of ‘The Times of India’ for doing so. (Congratulations to Mr. Raj Shinde for takimg immediate step to stop degradation of Dharma! We need such staunch Hindus all over ! –Editor SP)

Initially Mr. Shinde tried to contact ‘The Times of India’ office to register his protest against the distortion on telephone; but was brushed aside for 5 times without giving proper justification. Later the phone was put off. (From this one can know the rude behaviour of ‘The Times of India’ management. Would this management dare to behave like this in case of grieved Muslims due to hurting their religious feelings? – Editor SP) Thereafter Mr. Shinde was given the contact number of ‘Brad’ department. When he tried to contact this number it was also put off twice. At the third time he could have a dialogue with someone there called Asha D’souza as follows –

Mr. Shinde : We revere the cow as God. Hence to exhibit such a distorted picture as a show piece is akin to hurt the religious feelings of Hindus.

D’souza : We never intended to hurt the feelings of Hindus. Ordinary people revere the actors-actresses too as God; that is why it  is displayed like that. (If this is so then would madam D’souza display Lord Jesus having such pictures stuck on His statue? – Editor SP)

Mr. Shinde : What is so special in the actors- actresses to revere them as God? What kind of ideal do they put before the society. Do not personify the Deities. There cannot be any comparison between Deities and film actors. Do not give wrong messages to the society.

D’souza : Deities have eloped with women. They are not sane. (Anti-Hindu D’souza arguing just for the sake of arguments, giving the examples from the Puranas (sacred holy Texts) without stating their references ! If somebody comments on the character of Mother Mary, would D’souza tolerate it? Since Hindus are not united, people from other Faiths dare to abuse our Deities! – Editor SP)

Mr. Shinde : It is absolutely wrong to criticise Deities. Talk after getting full information about Spirituality. There is always some implied meaning to everything in Spirituality.

D’souza : My maiden name is Mhatre. I am also a Hindu. (What right one who denigrates the Hindu Deities and places of Faith, has to call oneself a Hindu? On the contrary such Hindus by birth are the real enemies of Hindu Dharma! – Editor SP)

Mr. Shinde : If I do not get justice then I shall try to lodge a lawful complaint. If you call yourself a Hindu then co-operate.

D’souza : Send me a letter stating your viewpoint. Accordingly I shall convey the same to my seniors and take action!
