Cartoonist Jagadish Kunte ridicules the incident of ‘Draupadi Vastraharan’

Belgaum (Karnataka) : A caricature of ‘Draupadi Vastraharan’ incident from Mahabharat has been drawn by cartoonist Jagadish Kunte. He has drawn a symbolic picture of Karnataka Government, Maharashtra Government and Central Government wearing a crown and disrobing symbolic picture of the ‘border area’ shown as Draupadi.

As members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) came to know about it, they went to Jagadish Kunte’s office and tried to explain to him that such pictures lead to denigration of our Holy Scriptures. Kunte, however, said that there was nothing like God. (Forget about Hindus who are believers; but several scientists have accepted the existence of God. Does Kunte feel that he is more intelligent than all of them? – Editor SP) It is only our belief. You are only God. (On one hand, he is saying that God does not exist and on the other hand, he is calling a man as God. There cannot be more ideological confusion than this. – Editor SP) Do you know how many wrong incidents took place in Mahabharata? You read Mahabharata properly. (Anything could have happened in Mahabharata; but it is the true history of Hindus and along with numerous great characters, there is the absolute incarnation of Lord Krushna. What right does Kunte have to make mockery of incidents from such Holy Scriptures? – Editor SP) Our Dharma is vast. You are drawing wrong conclusions and making it narrow. (Will Kunte have the same standpoint if his parents are ridiculed by somebody in such manner? – Editor SP) Why Deities are shown with four hands? To indicate a dynamic person, four hands are shown. (Kunte has no knowledge of Dharma but does not have sense to even accept his ignorance ! – Editor SP) You are drawing wrong meaning of this caricature.” HJS members then asked him that why he did not draw such pictures about seats of worship in other religions. Kunte said that followers of other religions were stupid and narrow-minded. The HJS members told him that they were not stupid but had staunch respect for their Dharma. (If Kunte dares to draw such ridiculed drawings of seats of worship from other religions, what would be his condition? Hindus, however, do not react in similar manner; therefore, they have to listen to senseless talks like that of Kunte. – Editor SP) HJS members showed him the picture published in ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ under the column ‘Samartha’ ; but Kunte was in no mood to listen; he was very firm on his stand.
