Kalyan-Dombivali : Close down artificial water tanks ! – HJS’ representation

Dombivali (Maharashtra) : Municipal Corporation has erected artificial water tanks for immersion of Sri Ganesh idols. It is, however, necessary as per the ‘Dharmashastra’ that Sri Ganesh idols are immersed in flowing water; therefore, the Municipal Corporation should immediately close down the artificial water tanks. The above demand was made by a delegation of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) through a representation submitted to Mrs. Vaijayanti Gholap, the Mayor of Kalyan – Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC),  its Deputy Mayor, Mr. Bhudharam Sarnobat and the Police Commissioner.  Mr. Ajay Sambhus, the district coordinator of HJS for Thane and other activists of HJS were present on the occasion. Immersion of idols is being done in the artificial water tank erected on ‘Bhagshala’ grounds. The above representation was submitted by HJS in this background.

Ganesh idols have to be immersed in flowing water ! – Dy. Mayor

We take care of the Ganesh idol since the day it is brought home. Such idol should be immersed in flowing water,  was the response by Mr. Budharam Sarnobat, the Deputy Mayor.
